My name is Allison McComas. I am an artist and designer from Charleston, WV. I studied fashion design at Fashion Carreers College in San Diego, CA. After that program I decided to continue my education in graphic design at West Virginia State University.
I grew up predominantly on Charleston’s West Side. I became an art snob at the age of five when my babysitter taught me the colors of the rainbow. I was the only Kindergartener who filled out the entire sky in their lanscape drawings, rather than an indicating a sky with a blue stripe at the top of the paper. Still, no one seemed to notice how talented I was. Lol.
I gain inspiration through nature, attitude, fashion, color and other artists such as Marguerite Sauvage, Peter Max and Banksy. I feel a calling to do art pertaining to social justice and political themes. I believe that art can bring people together through its experience.
